A group of noble citizens, led by Sri. A .Vasudevan. Late. P.U. Janardhanan. Late P.U. Madhavan, Sri. C. T. Kumar, Late K. Padmarajan and Sri. A.Chendamarakshan, who were actively involved in Satsang activities got inspired to start a school. They joined together to form the Gangothri Charitable Cultural & Educational Trust. Thus marked the beginning of a CBSE school in Nemmara in the year 1991. His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda ji showered his blessings on their noble venture. His Holiness Swami Vishnudevanada ji who is also known as "Flying Swamy" gave the name to the Trust and the school as "Gangothri". Two acres of land was donated by the Maya Vihar Family at Nemmara. The school has grown from its kindergarten stage to its current level due to the undaunted and dedicated services of the trustees and the total support from Sri. K.S. Ramakrishna lyer without whose financial help and guidance this would not have been possible. And now the school has attained the status of a full fledged Senior secondary English Medium School with classes from pre-KG to 12th std with CBSE, Delhi, affiliation (code No: 930479).
